What is PAIUnet?
PAIUnet is a statewide, high-speed educational network that enables educators and students throughout Pennsylvania to create, communicate, collaborate and share valuable resources to enhance student learning.
What are the benefits of PAIUnet?
PAIUnet provides PA Intermediate Units (IUs) and K-12 schools a network that is 50 times faster and 95% cheaper than the current systems. It increases connectivity between Pennsylvania IUs and school districts providing access to content and resources that will transform the way educational services and information are delivered.
Who benefits from PAIUnet?
PAIUnet connects all 29 IUs and their member school districts throughout the Commonwealth. It also connects public library systems and charter schools. This project will have an impact on all areas of IU and school services from the business office to the classroom.

How is PAIUnet managed?
PAIUnet is an independent entity governed by the PAIUnet Council comprised of the 29 IU executive directors. An Operations Committee, consisting of executive directors from each of the eight Pennsylvania Inspired Leaders (PIL) regions, provides operational support and makes recommendations to the PAIUnet Council. Day-to-day management is the responsibility of the PAIUnet Project Management Team, comprised of staff from the Chester County IU, Capital Area IU and ARIN IU.

The vision of PAIUnet, Connecting Learners…Accelerating Results, highlights the advantages of sharing statewide resources to create equitable educational opportunities for all Pennsylvania students. The vision will be achieved through the mission of “PAIUnet is a statewide telecommunications delivery system developed to support the mission and purpose of intermediate units, including the exchange of K-12 educational content and educational administrative support services. PAIUnet is committed to providing high-quality, cost effective telecommunications and support services that meet the needs of its member intermediate units, school districts, schools and libraries.” (Adopted October 2, 2008).
